Blood Moon Dicing - Gamejam version


Hi,

So the jam is done, the voting is undergoing, I had a lot of fun! 

First thanks to GMTK for hosting this awesome jam! Now to my project.

Friday evening I started fiddling around with some gridmaps and textures in Godot and decided to implement the drunk walk algorithm. Why? Because I'm lazy and don't want to carve out levels. So that's done. Sometime in the night to saturday I got the idea of a demonic spell triggered by the blood moon infesting a space station. Ok, but how does the theme "Rolling of the Dice" fit in there? Easy enough, you play a dice-mage which can throw dice at the enemys. 

I ran into a few major bugs during development, but I didn't have time left to fully fix them. The biggest one is the jittering while you move. Then there is an error when you miss the ladder's collision block, you fall endlessly deep. 

What else can be expected in the future?

I already started to iron out these major flaws. Once I got it done, I will rework the level generation, I want rooms and stuff! More enemys, a better spell-ring behaviour to make the game a little more predictable. Rework the graphics, add more effects.  

There is a huge list of todo on my desk right now, that I want to work through, because I think this game has in some way potential to be enjoyable.
